Luciana Paluzzi
Luciana Paluzzi, an Italian actress who was a brunette with a lot of the volume and big smile, became famous following the success of Gina Lollobrigida. The 1950s saw Ms. Paluzzi worked on both sides of the Atlantic in films like Three Coins in the Fountain and Sea Fury. She was then given the chance to become an American TV star in the character of Simone Genet in the 1959 weekly spy show Five Fingers. She was approached in 1965 by the Bond producers for consideration as Domino Derval, the main female character of Thunderball. Terence Young, the director of the film, suggested giving Fiona Volpe the role as the villain. She was one of only a handful of women that could not resist Mr. Fiona which, as a form of punishment for her fatal wounds by the floor of the bar by Bond's comrades. James, who then lays her corpse at a nearby dining table is asked "Does it bother you that I sit this one out?" The fault is not with her. Luciana Paluzzi was able to keep up her European career through the 70s by directing this film. The films like Captain Nemo & The Underwater City (in 1969), The Six Million Dollar Man (in 1973), The Klansman(in 1974) and The Greek Tycoon were all made during the decade.
