Annette O'Toole was raised in Houston the state of Texas. She attended her mother's dance studio. Annette O'Toole made her TV debut in the age of two and was on the Don Mahoney Kiddie Trooper show. After ten years in dancing and singing the mother of her child and she went on a journey to L.A. to try and see if a show business career was possible. She got her first job as a professional performer in only two months on Danny Kaye's The Danny Kaye Show. According to her "I have used my training as a dancer and singer across a myriad of ways." The discipline gained through this training is beneficial to actors." O'Toole's role as a debutant in My Three Sons was followed by roles in Gunsmoke and The Mod Squad. She also appeared on Hawaii Five-O, The Mod Squad, The Partridge Family. O'Toole's greatest love, despite her television and film success was theatre. Following her time on Smallville O'Toole made the decision to pursue a career in theatre, something she had been doing over the last decade. First auditions on stage in New York led her to be chosen to play The Sea Gull. Her appearances have been in various Off-Broadway productions. Among them are Adam Rapp's Kindness Tracy Letts' Man from Nebraska and Tennessee Williams' A Lovely Sunday for Creve Couer.
